Tasks failing with "Error converting data type decimal to decimal"

Abstract

If you are running on WebSphere Lombardi Edition versions 7.1, 7.1.0.1 and 7.2 using MSSQL as the system database you should apply hotfix WLE-7.1.0-HotFix-110129710 to prevent the random failure of tasks.

The error logged in the WebSphere Lombardi Edition logs will contain the following:

Error converting data type decimal to decimal.; nested exception is
com.jnetdirect.jsql.JSQLNonFatalException: Error converting data type decimal to decimal.

The cause of the problem has been identified as the version of the JNetDirect driver shipped with WebSphere Lombardi Edition 7.1, 7.1.0.1 and 7.2. An updated version of the driver is available via IBM Fix Central.
