Abstract

A new version of the Netcool/OMNIbus Probe for Syslog will be available to download from March 12, 2015.

Content

This version of the probe has been updated to add the following functionality:

  • 64-bit support:
    On Solaris and Linux, the probe provides 64-bit support on Netcool/OMNIbus 7.4 (and later versions).
    On AIX and zLinux, the probe supports 64-bit for Netcool/OMNIbus 8.1 (and later versions).

It also incorporates fixes for the following APARs:

  • IV33460 : Avoid probe from sending split events when message longer than 2056 bytes. Any excessive message will be truncated
  • IV33957 : Fix default RecoveryFile incorrect setting.
  • IV12210 : Fix probe core dump when encounter invalid multibyte character.

A single package contains versions of the probe for all supported Operating Systems. To obtain this new package, use the Find by part number field to search for part number: CN4FYEN

The probe supports the following Operating Systems: AIX, Linux, Solaris and zLinux.
