Problem
Attempts to install or use IBM Installation Manager 1.4.x on Linux results in the error "Error executing "chmod()" operation (status=-1)."
Symptom
The installation of IBM Installation Manager ends with the following information in the installation log file located under /var/ibm/InstallationManager/logs/
43 ERROR 03:17.55 java.io.IOException: java.io.IOException: Cannot allocate memory |
Cause
not enough swap space or no access to file location.
Resolving The Problem
To resolve the error:
- Increase the swap space on the operating system
or - Copy locally on the machine the installation files of IBM Installation Manager or the product you wish to install
