Problem

This technote explains how to resolve a Client and Server mismatch error, that can occur when using the IBM Rational Team Concert Eclipse client version 3.0 to create a repository connection.

Symptom

Attempts to create a repository connection from an Eclipse client version 3.0 to a version 3.0 server result in a "Client and Server mismatch" error when using IBM Rational Team Concert.

The following error dialog will display:



Cause

The likely cause of this error is due to the change of the default preference setting of the Network Connections.

In Rational Team Concert 2.0, it is set to use "Direct connection to the Internet" by default:



In Rational Team Concert 3.0, it is set by default to use "Native" as the Active Provider.

Resolving The Problem

To resolve the error, please try changing the preference setting of the Network Connections to use "Direct" as the Active Provider.
