Troubleshooting
Problem
Unable to see workspaces after configuring Monitoring agent.
Symptom
Unable to see workspaces
Diagnosing The Problem
Open the Tivoli Enterprise Portal and log on.
If there is only one agent defined, there will not be a + sign on Tivoli Storage Manger indicating that it can be expanded to show the workspaces. If there are more than one agents defined, there will be a + sign indicating that the agent can be expanded to reveal the workspaces.
Resolving The Problem
To resolve the issue, perform the following steps in order:
Open DOS prompt, navigate to the itm\cnps\sqllib directory and issue:
dir > c:\sqllibDir.txt
In the event that the following steps do not resolve the issue, this file will need to be sent into support.
1. Stop the Tivoli Enterprise Portal service in Tivoli Enterprise Monitoring Service
2. Open a command prompt (Start -> Run... -> cmd)
3. CD into the directory <install dir>\itm\cnps\sqllib (default installation directory is c:\ibm)
4. Run the following command which will simulate the Unix touch command (and update the timestamps on all of the files):
copy /b *.* +,,
5. CD into the directory <install dir>\itm\cnps
6. Edit the file kfwalone (for example: notepad kfwalone)
7. Locate the line with the KFW_MIGRATE_FORCE variable and set it to Y so it now looks like this:
KFW_MIGRATE_FORCE=Y
8. Save and close the file
9. From within this same directory (<install dir>\itm\cnps), run:
buildpresentation.bat
Note: this command could take up to 30 minutes to run.
10. Once completed, restart the Tivoli Enterprise Portal service in Tivoli Enterprise Monitoring Service.
If the workspaces show (the issue is resolved) set KFW_MIGRATE_FORCE back to N in kfwalone.
If the issue is not resolved, do the following:
1. Open a command prompt
2. CD into e:\ibm\itm\cnps and run the command migrate-export.bat
3. Send in the resulting saveexport.sql file for review. It can be located at:
<install dir>\itm\cnps\sqllib\saveexport.sql
Zip the saveexport.sql file and sqllibDir.txt and send it into support.
Unix/Aix
1. CD into the directory $CANDLEHOME/<interp>/cq/sqllib
2. Run: touch *
3. Edit the file:
Linux: $CANDLEHOME/<interp>/cq/bin/lnxenv
Unix: $CANDLEHOME/<interp>/cq/bin/lnxnocmsenv
Locate the line with the KFW_MIGRATE_FORCE variable and set it to Y so it now looks like this:
KFW_MIGRATE_FORCE=Y
4. Save and close the file lnxnocmsenv
5. Execute: $CANDLEHOME/bin/itmcmd execute cq InstallPresentation.sh
Note: this command could take up to 30 minutes to run.
