Abstract

This technote defines storage architecture support for the Tivoli Storage FlashCopy Manager and IBM Spectrum Protect™ Snapshot. products as it relates to platform and restore functionality.

Notes:

With FlashCopy Manager v3.1.0.0 on AIX, Unix, and Linux, dynamic assignment of snapshots to target hosts does not work with SVC 6.3, SVC 6.4, IBM Storwize v7000 version 6.4, and IBM Storwize V7000 Unified Disk Subsystems v1.3
Workaround: Preassign the target volumes instead of allowing FlashCopy Manager to dynamically assign the snapshots to the target hosts. Set the FlashCopy Manager profile parameter BACKUP_HOST_NAME to PREASSIGNED_VOLUMES.
Fix: This limitation is resolved at the FlashCopy Manager v3.1.0.1 interim fix level.
