AppScan crashes on startup immediately after installation
Attempt to launch IBM Rational AppScan Standard Edition or IBM Rational AppScan Express Edition version 8.0 right after installing the product results in one of two errors:
"AppScan failed saving the scan and will terminate now."
"AppScan internal error occurred. Please contact your local customer support provider."
The problem might appear right after the installation of IBM Rational AppScan Standard Edition or IBM Rational AppScan Express Edition.
The problem is caused by one of Microsoft Windows security updates or one of Microsoft .Net framework updates. One of the .dll files required for normal AppScan start-up gets replaced.
Resolving the problem
The latest update for Microsoft .Net 3.5 framework includes a fix for this issue. Install the latest Microsoft .Net 3.5 framework update via Windows updates to resolve the problem.
No re-installation of AppScan is required after applying the latest Microsoft .Net 3.5 framework update.
