New Lotus Notes 8.5.2 Recent Contacts feature "Only names from emails I send" is not working as expected

Technote (troubleshooting)

Problem

After enabling the option "Do not automatically add", and then selecting the sub-option, "Names from email I receive (Only add names from e-mails I send)", email addresses from messages which were received are still added to Recent Contacts.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Enable the option "Do not automatically add"/ "Names from email I receive (Only add names from e-mails I send)" option under File --> Preferences --> Contacts
  2. Restart Notes.
  3. Open an email from a sender. Note: Ensure this sender is not already in your Recent Contacts or My Contact view.

RESULT: E-mail address is still automatically added to Recent Contacts.

Symptom
