Question

How do you open a definition's properties editor window (SAEdit) from a Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) macro in IBM Rational System Architect(SA)?

Cause

You want to know how to invoke a specific definition's Object Dialog box for from your VBA macro to edit the definition's properties in SA.

Answer

You can use Rational System Architect's Interface Manager (ISAIMF) in your VBA macro to open a definition editor window in SA as per the following code example:


Set SA = New SA2001.Application
Set SAImf = SA.Interface("ISAIMF")
Call SAImf.SAEditDefinition(61, 0) ' Where ddID = 61
