Troubleshooting
Problem
This technote explains how to resolve an CRJAZ1558E error, that can occur when using IBM Rational Team Concert.
Symptom
During setup, while testing the LDAP configuration, I keep getting the following error when testing the JazzAdmin User from the JTS setup wizard.:
CRJAZ1558E The user "user" could not be found in the LDAP directory. Please check the LDAP configuration.
The user name and all the LDAP properties are valid. The user name specified belongs to the JazzAdmins group.
Cause
The group membership information in the LDAP Group is using the user id instead of the user distinguished name (DN).
Let us assume the group member property "members" is used to specify the members of the LDAP group. The value of the property "members" is set to the user id (samw, bobg) instead of the user's distinguished name in LDAP (cn=Bob Smith,OU=Research,DC=Company,DC=com).
This is usually the case if POSIX schema is used to describe the LDAP group.
Environment
Jazz Team Server Server using LDAP authentication
Diagnosing The Problem
- During JTS set-up, testing LDAP configuration
- LDAP user looks correct, and belongs to the JazzAdmins Group
- Error:
CRJAZ1558E The user "user" could not be found in the LDAP directory. Please check the LDAP configuration
. message is displayed.
Resolving The Problem
This issue has been identified as a product defect in the LDAP validation code and has been logged under Jazz.net work item 139856.
Skip the test and proceed to the next step in JTS setup wizard.
