What versions of File Manager/DB2 support DB2 V10?

File Manager/DB2 support information for DB2 V10
FM/DB2 V10: Tolerated. Toleration provided by APAR PM25524 (PTF UK64403). There is no particular support for DB2 V10 specific features, and any problems that may arise when using DB2 V10 that are not evident when using FM/DB2 V12 or later, will not be fixed in FM/DB2 V10. Customers requiring GEN command (SQL reverse engineering) support for DB2 V10, or support for DB2 V10 specific features, should upgrade to FM/DB2 V12 or later . (Note that 'Target System Mandatory Operational Requisites for File Manager/DB2' in the FM V12 Program Directory, lists DB2 V9 or DB2 V10).
Migration paths:
1. DB2 version 8 directly to DB2 version 10.

  • Migrate DB2 to V10 CM8
  • Install FM version 12 at the same time as DB2 is migrated to V10 EN8 mode.
  • Complete migration to DB2 V10 NFM. When DB2 V10 reaches NFM, re-bind the FM plans using the supplied DB2 V10 sample jobs, see FMN.SFMNSAM1(FMN2BIND) for details.
2. DB2 version 9 to DB2 version 10.
  • Migrate DB2 V9 to V10 CM9, EN9 and finally NFM. When DB2 V10 reaches NFM, re-bind the FM plans using the supplied DB2 V10 sample jobs, see FMN.SFMNSAM1(FMN2BIND) for details.


FM/DB2 V11: Tolerated. Toleration available at GA-level. Upgrades to GEN command (SQL Reverse Engineering) and additional toleration support is provided in APAR PM41019 (PTF UK69561).
Customers requiring support for DB2 V10 specific features should upgrade to FM/DB2 V13.
(Note that 'Target System Mandatory Operational Requisites for File Manager/DB2' in the FM V13 Program Directory, lists DB2 V9 or DB2 V10).
Migration paths:
1. DB2 version 8 directly to DB2 version 10.
  • Migrate DB2 to V10 CM8

1. DB2 version 8 directly to DB2 version 10 is not supported. Customers should not attempt to use
FM/DB2 version 12 with a DB2 version 10 system in CM8 mode.

2. DB2 version 9 to DB2 version 10.
  • Migrate DB2 V9 to V10 CM9, EN9 and finally NFM. When DB2 V10 reaches NFM, re-bind the FM plans using the supplied DB2 V10 sample jobs, see FMN.SFMNSAM1(FMN2BIND) for details.
