Error: 'Mobile Portal Test Environment exists..." when installing Mobile Portal Toolkit

Technote (troubleshooting)


The Mobile Portal Toolkit installation in IBM Mobile Portal Accelerator fails with the following error message:

    "Mobile Portal Test Environment exists!
    Mobile Portal UTE is already installed in the selected Portal Server Location. Provide a different Portal Server location or Click Cancel button to exit the installation."


This issue occurs because of a previous install. Even if you uninstalled the previous version before you started this installation, some files remain on the Portal server that must be removed manually.

Resolving the problem

1. On the Portal server - Install directory, find the directory usually found at one of these locations:


2. Delete this directory.

3. Also remove the contents from the following directories:
