Troubleshooting
Problem
Error received when editing/creating a rule.
Symptom
Error: Element name ambiguous "<elementname>"
Cause
This error usually means the element appears on more than one dimension and TM1 can't sort out which one you are referencing.
Resolving The Problem
You need to define the ambiguous element with the following syntax:
[dimensionname:'elementname']
If the dimension has a hyphen, a space or starts with a number, you will still get a syntax error. To work around that problem you can create a unique alias for the element you want to use in the rule and simply reference the alias instead of the element name.
