Redirecting WebSphere MQ trace on UNIX to a directory other than /var/mqm/trace

Technote (FAQ)

Question

WebSphere MQ for UNIX generates trace to /var/mqm/trace.

How can I redirect the trace to another directory?

Answer

1. Delete or rename the trace directory /var/mqm/trace.

2. Create a symbolic link, /var/mqm/trace, which points to a directory where you would like the trace files generated. For example, to link /var/mqm/trace directory to a file system you created named /trace, use the following command: ln -s /trace /var/mqm/trace
