EasySync Pro starts but does not complete synchronization

Problem

Lotus EasySync Pro starts but does not complete synchronization. You notice after you start to synchronize that the blue progress bar at the bottom of the dialog box seems to stop at one point and never moves beyond that point.

Resolving the problem

You may have to use the Windows Task Manager in order to stop EasySync Pro.
In one case when the EasySync Pro conduit failed to install, the solution was to disable User Account Control (UAC). Go to to the Control Panel and select User Accounts (see steps below). After rebooting the computer, you should be able to sync with EasySync Pro. You can enable UAC again if you need it.

You can turn off User Account Control (UAC) as follows:

1. Open the Control Panel --> User Accounts --> "Turn User Account Control on or off".

2. Uncheck the box next to "Use User Account Control (UAC) to help protect your computer".

3. Click OK and restart the computer.

NOTE: You can re-enable UAC by checking the box next to "Use User Account Control (UAC) to help protect your computer".

In some cases, the situation occurred after installing HotSync and EasySync Pro on a new computer running Windows 7 and on another computer running Windows Vista. In another case, the issue was resolved when EasySync was explicitly run with administrator privileges. The same situation also occurred on Windows 7 64-bit using Bluetooth to sync and the suggestions above were successful.
