On Windows, installing agent application support based on ITM 6.2.2 GA, Fix Pack 1, or Fix Pack 2 into a ITM 6.2.2 Fix Pack 3 Tivoli Enterprise Portal Server (TEPS), Java-dependent features such as the TEP client and tacmd command-line tool may exhibit unexpected failures.
Resolving the problem
This problem may manifest itself in different ways on Windows:
- The command-line tool tacmd may fail.
- Agent configuration or re-configuration in the Manage Tivoli Enterprise Monitoring Services (MTEMS) tool may complain that Java run-time does not exist and subsequently fail.
- TEPS re-configuration in the Manage Tivoli Enterprise Monitoring Services (MTEMS) tool may complain that Java run-time does not exist and subsequently fail.
- Tivoli Enterprise Portal (TEP) desktop may not launch.
- If %CANDLE_HOME%\Config\tep.jnlpt was modified after upgrading to ITM 6.2.2 Fix Pack 3, the modifications may not be migrated to the %CANDLE_HOME%\CNB\tep.jnlp file when Tivoli Enterprise Portal Server (TEPS) is re-configured.
