Problem
This technote identifies an issue that can occur in IBM Rational ClearCase where you may see a performance issue when browsing a dynamic view in ClearCase Explorer on Microsoft Windows Vista and later. This issue is not see on Microsoft Windows XP or Windows 2003.
Cause
This issue was identified as a product defect under APAR PM24815.
Resolving The Problem
Defect APAR PM24815 has been resolved in ClearCase 7.1.1.5 and 7.1.2.2.
WORKAROUND
To workaround the issue:
- Set the following Windows registry Value by cutting the below text and pasting it into a new .reg file.
This solution contains information about modifying the system registry. Before making any modifications to the Microsoft Registry Editor, it is strongly recommended that you make a backup of the existing registry. 2. Double-click on the .reg file to apply the update and reboot.
This change reverts the problem behavior to Windows XP.
To re-enable the default behavior, delete the registry value and reboot.
