The activation kit is downloaded with the incorrect file format when using Internet Explorer

Problem(Abstract)

The activation kit is not saved in the .JAR file format when you download it using Microsoft Internet Explorer.

Symptom

Internet Explorer downloads the activation kit in the .ZIP file format instead of the .JAR file format. If you download the activation kit in the .ZIP file format, you cannot license your product because IBM Installation Manager does not recognize that file type.


Resolving the problem

To download the activation kit in the .JAR file format using Internet Explorer:

  1. Right click the activation kit that you want to download and select Save Target As...
  2. In the Save As dialog window, you must select All files as the file type in the Save as type field.
  3. Specify the directory where you want to save the activation kit.
  4. Click Save to start the download.
