End of Support and End of Marketing dates for WebSphere Application Server Community Edition products (Lifecycle)

Product lifecycle

Abstract

When does support end for each Version of the IBM WebSphere Application Server Community Edition products? What options do we have for support beyond a product's End of Support dates?

Content

Beginning with Version 2.1, IBM WebSphere Application Server Community Edition will follow the IBM Enhanced Support Lifecycle Policy ("5 plus 3"), which means that the product will provide support for at least 5 years after the product version's General Availability (GA) date, with an optional additional 3 years of purchasable support after the product reaches its End of Support date. The Enhanced Support Lifecycle Policy is available for all customers with a valid WebSphere Application Server Community Edition support offering.

If you require support beyond a product's End of Support date, a Support Extension may be purchased. Information on how to request a price quote for your specific support needs is available in the Technote titled, If an IBM WebSphere product has passed its End of Support date, you can purchase a Support Extension to receive Product and Customer Technical Support for that product.

Effective September 20, 2013, the following Entry and Elite Support numbers will be Withdrawn from Marketing for all versions of the WebSphere Application Server Community Edition. Please see Withdrawal Anouncement 913-081 for further details.
