LOADX_TYPE=6 option for manual full refresh can cause data loss in SQL replication Version 9.7 Fix Pack 3 and Fix Pack 3a for Linux, UNIX, and Windows

Flash (Alert)

Using the LOADX_TYPE=6 option in SQL replication Version 9.7 Fix Pack 3 and Fix Pack 3a can cause data loss on Linux, UNIX, and Windows operating systems.

Setting LOADX_TYPE=6 in the IBMSNAP_SUBS_MEMBR table tells the Apply program that the source and target tables are synchronized, and that the Apply program can update all control tables without performing a full refresh.
In Version 9.7 Fix Pack 3 and Fix Pack 3a, this setting can cause the Apply program to advance the synchpoint without applying changed data, possibly resulting in data loss.

This problem is fixed in a special build of Version 9.7 Fix Pack 3a. Use one of the following special builds, depending on the platform of the system where the Apply program runs:

Platform Special build
AIX64 IP23226
LinuxAMD64 IP23233
LinuxIA32 IP23232
Linux390 IP23235
LinuxPPC64 IP23234
Sun64 IP23230
HPIPF64 IP23229
NTX64 IP23228
NT32 IP23227

To obtain a special build, contact IBM software support.

You can use LOADX_TYPE=6 in Version 9.7 and Version 9.7 fix packs 1 and 2; the problem does not exist in these versions.
