Abstract
If SERVER TIME PROTOCOL is used to implement a change in the LOCAL TIME on a z/OS system, TWSz 8.5.0 and 8.5.1 cannot automatically capture that time change unless the fixing PTF for APAR PM22290 is applied.
Content
For TWSz 8.5 and 8.5.1 ONLY, there is a flaw in the EQQZNF53 ENF LISTENER exit, caused by compiler optimization. This problem prevents the EQQZNF53 exit from detecting changes to the LOCAL TIME which are made via STP. This problem is corrected by APAR PM22290, with fixing PTFS UK60665 for V8R5M0 and UK60666 for V8R5M1.
.
All users of TWSz 8.5 or 8.5.1 who manage time throughout their SYSPLEX via STP should apply the PTF for PM22290 prior to the Autumn time changes.
.
If it is not possible to apply this maintenance before the FALLBACK time change, it will be necessary for STP users to STOP and RESTART each TWSz TRACKER and CONTROLLER started task after the time change to re-synchronize TWSz with the system local time.
.
This problem affects ONLY STP users running TWSz 8.5.0 or 8.5.1.
