zSecure 1.12 and above document new command C2EDIAG to assist with the debugging of TSIEM z/OS agents.
The zSecure Installation and Deployment Guide documents the c2ediag command and the description can give the impression that it should be present in the directory where you unpacked the ibm.tsiem.actuator.pax.Z file. This is not actually the case, the pax file shipped with TCIM or TSIEM does not include c2ediag.
Resolving the problem
The instructions for using the new C2EDIAG command can be found in the Security zSecure Suite: CARLa-driven components Installation and Deployment Guide Version 1.12.0 (SC27-2772-00), Chapter 15 - Configuring a z/OS Agent for Tivoli Security Information and Event Manager, section Troubleshooting -> The c2ediag command.
Attached to this Technote is the c2ediag command file for use with Tivoli Compliance Insight Manager (TCIM) and Tivoli Security Information and Event Manager (TSIEM).
To use the above file:
- Upload the script, in text mode, into the directory that contains the Agent software (the one that parameter C2ESW in the zSecure configuration points to).
- Verify ownership (both owning uid and owning gid), and permission bits of the files. They should be the same as the other shell scripts in that directory.
