Platform Configuration Tool displays an error with no message if you use the same custom node name for more than one node

Technote (troubleshooting)

Problem(Abstract)

If you are using the Platform Configuration Tool to configure a platform with multiple custom nodes and you specify the same value for each node name, the tool displays an error icon but does not provide explanatory text.

Symptom

The Platform Configuration Tool shows the following error icon without any message. You cannot continue with the configuration until you resolve the error.

Cause

The explanatory text that accompanies the error icon is not available. The error itself is caused by using the same name for more than one custom node in a platform.

Resolving the problem

Ensure that each custom node name is unique within the cell, then complete the platform configuration.
