The adapter for email throws exception during runtime after migration of WebSphere Process Server from V6.0.2 to V7.0.0.3

Abstract

The outbound and inbound operations on WebSphere Adapters for Email fail after the runtime migration of Websphere Process Server from V6.0.2 to V7.0.0.3 with a Classcast exception and NullPointer exception respectively.

Content

After WebSphere Process Server migration from V6.0.2 to V7.0.0.3, the outboud of WebSphere Adapters for Email fails with the below error:

Caused by: java.lang.ClassCastException: com.ibm.j2ca.email.EmailRecord incompatible with com.ibm.j2ca.email.EmailStructuredRecord
at com.ibm.j2ca.email.EmailInteraction.doExecute(EmailInteraction.java:328)
at com.ibm.j2ca.base.WBIInteraction.execute(WBIInteraction.java:336)

After WebSphere Process Server migration from V6.0.2 to V7.0.0.3, the outboud of WebSphere Adapters for Email fails with the below error:

java.lang.NullPointerException
at com.ibm.j2ca.email.EmailEventStore.getInteractionSpecForEvent(EmailEventStore.java:1034)
at com.ibm.j2ca.extension.eventmanagement.internal.EventSender.getInteractionSpec(EventSender.java:439)

The above error occurs when WebSphere Process Server migrations is done.
Please contact the IBM customer support when any of the above mentioned problems are encountered.
