Do not install Rational PurifyPlus and Rational Rose in the same directory as 7.1.x and later versions of Team Products

Problem

Installing IBM Rational PurifyPlus or IBM Rational Rose into the same directory as any of the Team products version 7.1.x and later that are installed using Installation Manager can cause product failures that prevent use of the product.

Symptom

If Rational PurifyPlus or Rational Rose is installed into the same directory as a later version of a Team Product, they might fail silently on startup, preventing use of the product.

Resolving The Problem

To resolve the problem:

  1. Uninstall PurifyPlus or Rose from the shared directory.

  2. Reinstall PurifyPlus or Rose into a new directory.
