Question & Answer
Question
Why does a WAR file with EJB artifacts not publish into WebSphere Application Server v8.0 Beta when using the "Run server with resources within the workspace publishing" option?
Cause
WebSphere Application Server v8.0 Beta does not fully support all the publishing options available in IBM® Rational Software Delivery Platform V8.0
Answer
There is a known limitation that the Run server with resources within the workspace publishing option does not function properly when publishing WAR files containing EJB beans to a WebSphere Application Server v8.0 Beta.
To workaround this limitation, switch to the Run server with resources on server publishing option by completing the following steps:
- In the Servers view, remove the web project containing the EJB beans from the server using the Add and Remove option.
- In the Servers view, right-click the server and select Open. The server editor opens.
- Under the Publishing settings for WebSphere Application Server section in the server editor, select the Run server with resources on server publishing option.
- In the Servers view, add the web project containing the EJB beans to the server using the Add and Remove option.
- You should now be able to publish your web project with EJB beans onto the server.
