Troubleshooting
Problem
Running the DSMUPGRD EXTRACTDB process to extract a V5 database may produce the following error :
[]ANR0000W Message repository for language AMENG does not match program level[]
Cause
Tivoli Storage Manager server environment variable DSMSERV_DIR was not correctly set for the upgrade utility.
Diagnosing The Problem
The DSMUPGRD EXTRACTDB process shows the following errors :
ANR0000W Message repository for language AMENG does not match program level.
ANR0000I Message repository's compile date: Wed May 12 02:27:00 2010
ANR0000I Program's message timestamp: Mon Mar 15 12:28:04 2010

Resolving The Problem
Perform the following steps to resolve the issue.
- Login as root.
- cd /path_to_v5_directory
- Run the command to set the DSMSERV_DIR environment variable:
AIX:export DSMSERV_DIR=/usr/tivoli/tsm/upgrade/bin
Linux, HP-UX, or Solaris:export DSMSERV_DIR=/opt/tivoli/tsm/upgrade/bin
Note: For C Shell, run the command,setenv DSMSERV_DIR - Re-run the database extract process.
