Troubleshooting
Problem
You copy the installation files for a product to a local repository using IBM Packaging Utility. In IBM Installation Manager, you start the installation process and receive the error: "The resolve process cannot be completed. Can not find shareable entities for %Offering.name".
Cause
Packaging Utility incorrectly copies the product installation files when the files are located on a remote site. In Installation Manager, the product name is shown as "%Offering.name".
Resolving The Problem
This issue has been fixed in Packaging Utility 1.4.1.
To resolve this issue for repositories created with Packaging Utility versions 1.3.4 or 1.4, take the following steps:
1. Open the repository directory that contains the product installation files.
2. Delete the repository.xml file.
3. Open the Offerings subdirectory.
4. Delete the product .jar file from the Offerings subdirectory. The format for the name of the product .jar file is: [ID]_[Version].jar
To determine the ID and version for a product .jar file, use Packaging Utility:
a. In Packaging Utility, click Copy Packages.
b. Expand the listing for a repository in the Content table until the product version shows.
c. Click the line that contains the product version.
The ID and version information displays in the Product Version Information section.
5. Upgrade to Packaging Utility version 1.4.1: see Technote #4027022 IBM Packaging Utility, Version 1.4.1.
6. Use Packaging Utility version 1.4.1 to copy the product installation files to the repository.
