Troubleshooting
Problem
Some of the ISD requests submitted to Information Server are timing out and not being processed. If the requests are resubmitted they are typically processed fine. Issue seems to be more likely to occur under high loads (high number of requests submitted for the ISD application).
Symptom
Error Message in WebSphere Application Server logs:
javax.resource.ResourceException: Queue Wait of 1000 Exceeded.
Resolving The Problem
In Information Server Console open your ISD project and follow these step to change the configuration for the deployed ISD Application:
1) under "Managing information services" category, select:
"Configuring service operations and information provides" and click the link on right hand side that says "Go to Deployed Information Applications workspace"
2) Expand the application all the way to the Operation level (last item under the application) and select edit at the bottom right corner.
3) Increase Maximum Queue Wait to desired new value (default is 1000). This setting increases the time a request is held in the "to be processes" queue before it is removed due timeout.
4) Alternative / additional configuration step is to increase the maximum number of active job instance for the application (more DataStage jobs processing the requests from the queue should improve the throughput if the hardware is capable of handling the increased load). Increase throughput should reduce the time requests are waiting in the queue to be processed.
