Following an upgrade to IBM Commonstore for SAP (CSSAP) v8.4, an error is observed when starting the CSSAP instance.

Technote (troubleshooting)

Problem(Abstract)

When an attempt is made to start the CSSAP instance, it fails. On investigation of the ai*.log an error message relating to Oracle JDBC is observed.

Symptom

The CSSAP archpro instance fails to start.

The following error message is seen in the ai*.log file:

Caught unexpected exception in agent: ocijdbc9 (A file or directory in the path name does not exist.)
java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: ocijdbc9 (A file or directory in the path name does not exist.)

....

Environment

IBM AIX system running Oracle DBMS v9.2

Resolving the problem

The CSSAP instance is unable to locate the JDBC driver in the existing path.

The Java runtime path should be explicitly added to the archint.ini file.

Add the following to the archint.ini file and the restart the CSSAP instance:

JAVARUNTIME_CM '/opt/IBM/db2cmv8/java/jre/bin/java'
