IBM Monitoring and Diagnostic Tools for Java - Memory Analyzer is a feature-rich Java heap analyzer that helps you find memory leaks and reduce memory consumption. Version 0.6 is based on Eclipse Memory Analyzer (MAT) release 1.0.

IBM Monitoring and Diagnostic Tools for Java - Memory Analyzer is a Tool Add-on for IBM Support Assistant v4.1. This tool can analyze dumps with hundreds of millions of objects, quickly calculate the retained sizes of objects, see what is preventing the Garbage Collector from collecting objects, run a report to automatically extract leak suspects and more.
This tool is based on Eclipse™ Memory Analyzer (MAT) together with the IBM Diagnostic Tool Framework for Java (DTFJ) to allow processing of dumps from IBM Virtual Machines for Java.
The supported dump types are:
- IBM SDK for Java (J9) system dumps
- IBM SDK for Java (J9) Portable Heap Dumps
- IBM SDK for Java (J9) javacore files
- IBM SDK for Java 1.4.2 SDFF
- HPROF binary heap dumps
Version 0.6 is a Tech Preview release for IBM Support Assistant V4.1.
