A new CDB file is created on each new start in Microsoft Clustered environments using IBM FileNet Image Services

Technote (FAQ)

Question

Why does IBM FileNet Image Services create a new configuration CDB file every time the software starts in Microsoft Clustered environments?

Answer

This behavior is to be expected when running IBM FileNet Image Services in a Microsoft Clustered environment. IBM FileNet Image Services will recreate a new CDB file on a restart just in case the cluster fails over and the file is not accessible.

Please Note: IBM recommend occasionally backing up all CDB files except the newest, and renaming the newest CDB file to IMS_1.cdb.

IBM FileNet Image Service will create up to 999 CDB files before this action becomes required
