Technote (FAQ)
Question
Is ATF compatible with this release of z/OS? DB2? CICS?
Answer
The following tables list compatibility, or any PTFs needed. Also listed for LE and DB2 are the members of the SCIKSRVC library that contain the set of ZAPs that need to be applied to the product in order to have full ATF functionality.
- While ATF is supported in combination with this z/OS release, z/OS requires an extended support contract for any of its components.
- The FMID specified in the member will need to be updated.
- Required if the corresponding LE PTF has been applied.
- Update needed if the PTF for LE APAR PM17052 has been applied and the USERMOD format is being used.
- While ATF is supported in combination with this CICS release, CICS requires an extended support contract for any of its components.
- PTF is for a CICS APAR.
- PTF is for a DB2 APAR.
z/OS (Language Environment) Releases Supported
The supplied ZAPs allow the built-in time and date functions for the various high-level languages that use LE services to reflect the assigned ATF virtual time, see the Using ATF with Language Environment section of the ATF for z/OS Installation and Customization Guide. With the appropriate ZAPs applied for the level of z/OS being used, these will work with the code generated by any version of a Language Environment enabled compiler (COBOL, C/C++, FORTRAN, PL/I).

The supplied ZAPs allow the SQL special registers for time and date (CURRENT DATE, CURRENT TIME, and CURRENT TIMESTAMP) to reflect the ATF virtual time assigned to the invoking application, see the Using ATF with DB2 section of the ATF for z/OS Installation and Customization Guide.
