Technote (FAQ)
Question
Why does BES Client performance suffer when there are large quantities of Proventia Desktop events?
Answer
The BES Client may perform poorly when there are large quantities of Proventia Desktop events, leading to sluggish response to actions and delayed reporting.
If the Proventia Desktop agent event log (attack-list.csv) grows too large, then it can cause the BES Client to spend significant amounts of time processing and reporting event information. It is recommended to keep the Proventia Desktop event log file as small as possible to avoid performance problems on both the Event Report and on the Agent.
To remedy this, use the task Proventia Desktop - Event Log Too Large to peridically archive event logs which are no longer necessary. Use the task Proventia Desktop - Upload Event Log Files to upload the current log file for more detailed analysis if necessary.
