Answer
For Windows NT 4.0, use the following command: c:\winmsd /a /f. This option queries the local computer, creates a text file using the computers name (computername.txt), and then places the file in the current directory. For Windows 2000, use the following commands: c:\start msinfo32 /report filename. You have to give a filename in Windows 2000, i.e., - c:\start msinfo32 /report test.txt. The text report will be created on the root of your c:. For Windows 2000, it will take a minute or two to finish.
