Problem

When attempting to start Telnet in its own address space, the following messages might be issued if the Telnet proc does not have PGM=EZBTNINI specified. EZZ4203I Z/OS UNIX - TCP/IP CONNECTION ERROR FOR jobname-BPX1PCT,8000000D,FFFFFFFF,00000079,11B3005A EZZ4203I Z/OS UNIX - TCP/IP CONNECTION ERROR FOR jobname-BPX1PCT,C0000005,FFFFFFFF,00000079,11B3005A BPXP018I THREAD 1472000000000001, IN PROCESS 67108873, ENDED WITHOUT BEING UNDUBBED WITH COMPLETION CODE 0013E000 , AND REASON CODE 00000000. EZZ4204I TCPIP INITIALIZATION FOR jobname FAILED

Symptom

Telnet fails to initialize in its own address space.

Cause

The Telnet proc does not have PGM=EZBTNINI specified. EZBTNINI is the TN3270 Telnet Server Initialization module.

Resolving The Problem

Code PGM=EZBTNINI in the Telnet proc.
