Troubleshooting
Problem
Many DPR-ERR-2008 errors appearing in the cogserver.log and the service name in the error is shown as .
Symptom
Errors only appear in logs, it does not have a customer facing impact on the environment
Resolving The Problem
In this instance the customer had a monitoring script which was trying to ping various Cognos URLS such as the dispatcher and CM urls. One of the URLS was incorrect and it was causing the error.
Steps to find the error:
- Enable debug pogo logging with the following steps:
- Go to c8 install dir\webapps\p2pd\WEB-INF
- Rename PogoLogKitConfig.xml to PogoLogKitConfig.xml.bak
- Rename PogoLogKitConfig.FullDebug.xml to PogoLogKitConfig.xml
- Wait for the error to appear in the cogserver.log then look in the pogo_<DATE>.log file
- Go up a little from where the error message appears you will see the SOAP request that caused the error.
- Look at the IP address where the SOAP request is originated.
- Determine and correct any monitoring scripts or user behaviour.
To disable the full debug pogo logging reverse the steps above. No restart is required to enable or disable it
