Abstract
Support for Service Component Architecture (SCA) for Portal environments will be added to the future fix pack of IBM Rational Application Developer for WebSphere Software version 7.5.
Content
A new component will be added to Rational Application Developer for WebSphere Software v7.5, where SCA projects can be created targeting WebSphere Portal server v6.1 running on WebSphere Application Server v7.0.
The new functionality enables you to create SCA projects within the workbench using project wizards provided to create SCA projects in Rational Application Developer v7.5.
Note: You will need to install "Service Component Architecture Development Tools" in Rational Application Developer to enable this functionality in the product workbench (see image 1).

If this component currently is not installed on Rational Application Developer, you may install it using IBM Installation Manager through "Modify" option.
To run SCA projects on WebSphere Portal v6.1 test environment, the server should be running on top of WebSphere Application Server v7.0 with SCA Feature Pack installed (see image 2 ).

Note: This functionality has been implemented in Rational Application Developer for WebSphere Software v7.5.5.2. So to get this fix you may update your workbench to this version.
