Security Restrictions in Maximo Asset Configuration Manager 7.1.1.1

The Security Groups (CM) application in version 7.1.1 introduced capability to restrict access to model, assets and event records. In fix pack 7.1.1.1 this capability is modified as follows:

Model Restrictions: To restrict access to model records, the Security Restriction check box in the Models (CM) application main tab must be selected. When this check box is selected for a model, access to the model record is restricted. To allow access, the model record has to be added to the Model Restrictions table on the ACM Restrictions tab of the Security Groups (CM) for each group that requires access.

Asset Attribute Restrictions: To restrict access to asset records by associated asset attribute type and value, the Security Restriction check box on the Asset Attributes Setup (CM) application main tab must be selected. When this check box is selected, access to any assets that have an associated asset attribute value will be restricted. To allow access to these records, the asset attribute type and value have to be added to the Asset Attribute Restrictions table on the ACM Restrictions tab of the Security Groups (CM) application for each group that requires access.

The entity restrictions capability that existed in the ACM Restrictions tab of the Security Groups (CM) application for version 7.1.1 is removed in fix pack 7.1.1.1. These Maximo Asset Configuration Manager restrictions for models, assets and event records can now be specified by using the global data restrictions capability.
