Abstract

Version 7.0.0.1 of WebSphere MQ has been replaced with version 7.0.1 in this update of WebSphere Remote Server V7.0.

The IBM WebSphere Remote Server V7.0 with IBM WebSphere MQ V7.0.1 update is available as an electronic download from the IBM Passport Advantage Online Web site. For more information about Passport Advantage, refer to the Passport Advantage Overview.

For download information and instructions, refer to the Download WebSphere Remote Server V7.0 document.

Install this update using one of the following methods:

  • Perform a new installation of WebSphere Remote Server V7.0 with WebSphere MQ V7.0.1.
  • Upgrade a current installation of WebSphere Remote Server V7.0 with WebSphere MQ V7.0.0.1.

Performing a new installation
If you choose to perform a new installation of WebSphere Remote Server with WebSphere MQ V7.0.1, first ensure that WebSphere Remote Server V7.0 with WebSphere MQ V7.0.0.1 is completely uninstalled from your system.

Open the Quick Start Guide, which is located on the downloaded Quick Start CD, and then follow the product installation instructions. You can also reference the information provided in the Installing section of the WebSphere Remote Server V7.0 information center.

Upgrading a current installation
To upgrade to WebSphere Remote Server with WebSphere MQ V7.0.1, use the installation process that is applicable for your previous installation:
  • WebSphere Remote Server V7.0 with WebSphere MQ 7.0.0.1 run time
  • WebSphere Remote Server V7.0 with the WebSphere MQ 7.0.0.1 Development environment

Note: You must stop the WebSphere MQ queue manager before performing the upgrade.

If you previously installed WebSphere Remote Server V7.0 with the WebSphere MQ 7.0.0.1 run time, perform the following steps:
  1. Start the Deployment Wizard for the new WebSphere Remote Server V7.0 with WebSphere MQ V7.0.1 image. The Welcome page is displayed.

  2. Click Next to open the Select Tasks page.

  3. Click Install Retail Store Server 7.0 runtime for Windows, and then click Next.



  4. Click Install WebSphere MQ 7.0.1 on the Install Retail Store Server 7.0 runtime for Windows page, and then click Next.



  5. Specify the required and optional installation parameters on the Configure Parameters page. Do not change the default values for the path parameters (SIF_HOME and MQ_HOME) or the password parameter.

  6. Click Next to open the Summary page. If the selected values are correct, click Next,

    Note: Click Back to return to a previous page to change a selected value.

  7. Click Finish to complete the installation.


If you previously installed WebSphere Remote Server V7.0 with the WebSphere MQ 7.0.0.1 development environment, perform the following steps:
  1. Start the Deployment Wizard for the new WebSphere Remote Server V7.0 with WebSphere MQ V7.0.1 image. The Welcome page is displayed.

  2. Click Next to open the Install Retail Store Server 7.0 solution development environment page.

  3. Click Install Retail Store Server 7.0 workspace for Linux, and then click Next.



  4. Specify the required and optional installation parameters on the Configure Parameters page. Change the default values for the workspace path parameters.

    Note: Installing the new workspace over the existing workspace will erase any changes made to the existing workspace. To preserve the existing workspace, the default location for installing the new workspace has been changed from <SIF_HOME>/workspace/irss70 to <SIF_HOME>/workspace/wrs70.

  5. Click Next to open the Summary page. If the selected values are correct, click Next,

    Note: Click Back to return to a previous page to change a selected value.

  6. Click Finish to complete the installation.
