IBM WebSphere sMash Applications packaged or exported with Standalone option may not be published

Technote (troubleshooting)

Problem(Abstract)

Applications packaged as standalone will contain a private repository with all the required modules so that the zip may be resolved in most cases. Only applications packaged as shared are valid for publication to a shared repository.

Symptom

Prior to IBM WebSphere sMash V1.1.1.3 fixpack, customers attempting to publish standalone applications may encounter the following error:

CWPZT0867W: The ivy.file could not be found in the zip file

IBM WebSphere sMash v1.1.1.3 or later issues an improved error message; however, the operation itself, publishing a standalone application, is not valid. The new error message is as follows:

CWPZT0867W: The myTest/config/ivy.xml could not be found in the myTest-1.0.0.zip file.

Resolving the problem

Package using the shared option if the application is to be published. Do not use standalone for applications that are to be published.

For additional information, refer to the IBM WebSphere sMash Information Center for more on the package command, the publish command, and dependency management.
