Abstract

IBM WebSphere CloudBurst Appliance V1.1.1 firmware is now generally available.

Content

IBM WebSphere CloudBurst Appliance (WebSphere CloudBurst) is a cloud computing appliance that manages WebSphere products in a cloud environment. WebSphere CloudBurst dispenses patterns of WebSphere virtual images into a pool of virtualized resources running a supported hypervisor. One of these virtual images is IBM WebSphere Application Server Hypervisor Edition, preloaded on WebSphere Cloudburst for convenience.

WebSphere CloudBurst firmware V1.1.1 now supports IBM z/VM hypervisor, in addition to IBM PowerVM and VMware ESX hypervisors. The new IBM WebSphere Application Server Hypervisor Edition for Novell SLES on System z runs in zVM environments.

With WebSphere CloudBurst firmware V1.1.1, the virtual images and supported hypervisors are:

  • WebSphere Application Server Hypervisor Edition for Novell SLES on System z in IBM zVM environments
  • WebSphere Application Server Hypervisor Edition for Novell SUSE Linux Enterprise Server in VMware ESX environments
  • WebSphere Application Server Hypervisor Edition for IBM AIX in PowerVM environments
