Technote (troubleshooting)
Problem
Notes clients pass a limited number of characters to the Web browser when users clicks a URL hotspot. Longer URLs will be truncated and the Web page usually will not load. A Web server error (often error 404) is returned trying to open the truncated URL.

Resolving the problem
This issue is fixed in 8.5.3 Fix Pack 3 and 8.5.4..
