Does IBM Rational Functional Tester 8.1.1 support Active x Control in the Html domain?

Answer

Rational Functional Tester does not fully support active X control out of the box. Starting from Rational Functional Tester 8.1.1, you can use the proxy SDK to develop their own proxy for active X controls.

To write a proxy for any activeX control using proxy SDK, first the proxy developer should know the internal hierarchy/structure of the activeX controls one inside the other. The proxy developer should also know how to traverse from parent activeX control to child activeX control and vice versa. Once the proxy developer familiar with this knowledge then he can develop a proxy for that activeX control using Rational Functional Tester proxy SDK by implementing interaction details of the control in the proxy.

For the possible future Rational Functional Tester enhancements to add support for certain activeX controls. You would need to provide the sample Active X control and the internal structure of the sample through the Rational RFE community:
