Cannot login to JConsole after Changing Internet Password Hash to 8.01 or Greater

Technote (troubleshooting)


Problem

The JConsole uses the Internet Password field (HTTPPassword) for authentication and when the $SetSecure field is set to "2" the JConsole is not able to read the more secure hash although the password has not changed.

Symptom

When the password is entered after setting "Yes - Password verification compatible with Notes/Domino release 8.01 or greater" for the internet password the User Password dialog box appears with the "Wrong password for <user>. Please try again" message.

Resolving the problem

This issue has been reported in SPR MKAA82MN6P

The only workaround is to revert the password back to "Password verification compatible with Notes/Domino release 4.6 or greater"
