Can I run the same Content Manager for iSeries Client R5.1 code on a Windows 7 machine that I used to run on Windows XP?
Answer
Yes, Content Manager for iSeries Client Application Version 5 Release 1 is supported on Microsoft Windows 7, as long as fix pack 19 of the code is installed. Currently, the supported operating systems for this product include:
- Windows 7
- Windows Vista
- Windows Server 2008 R2 (excluding Citrix or Teminal Services)
Fix pack 19 can be obtained from our web site ftp://ftp.software.ibm.com/as400/products/contentmanager/v530/client/ under the 510.19 folder.
There are currently no plans to support any version of Windows after Windows 7. For Microsoft Windows lifecycle dates, please click here.
Per Announcement Letter 916-117, IBM Content Manager for iSeries, and thereby the Content Manager for iSeries Client Application, will go out of support on September 30, 2018.
