Visual Studio 2010 integration with ClearCase and CCRC

Question & Answer

Question

How can I setup an integration of Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 with IBM Rational ClearCase and ClearCase Remote Client (CCRC)?

Answer

ClearCase and CCRC version 7.1.1.2 and later

Support for the integration of Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 was added in ClearCase and CCRC version 7.1.1.2.

Installing CCRC from the IBM Installation Manager provides the option to setup the integration as seen in the screenshot below.

You can also add the integration feature to an existing CCRC installation using the Modify option in the IBM Installation Manager and then selecting the appropriate Visual Studio version from the display as seen above.

ClearCase and CCRC versions 7.0.1 and 7.1.1

There is no Visual Studio 2010 integration available during an installation of ClearCase or CCRC versions 7.0.1.x or 7.1.1 or 7.1.1.1. Refer to the workaround details below for information about obtaining a utility and for instructions for setting up the integration.
