Problem
List report created in Query Studio as follows does not show the correct Total in HTML Cognos Viewer, when run in Excel or PDF, it shows the correct total summary. SQL gives the correct footer total in the system generated column used for the summary. When the report is run from Report Studio, the result is still incorrect. If Roll-up Aggregate Function is set to 'Calculated' it works, however I do not wish to manually change that for all reports.
Resolving The Problem
If you do not wish to manually change the default in Aggregate from 'Total' to 'Calculated', then a work-around would be to set the "Use Local Cache" query property in report studio to 'No'. This should change the interactive HTML more like the other outputs.
You can set local cache on package level in Framework Manager, it is in Governors, setting called ''Allow usage of local cache.''
Then you have to re-publish the package/packages and all reports should use that value; (if the setting on the report is default=blank).
If the setting on the report is manually set to either Yes or No then the FM change does not have an effect.
A possible negative effect could be the performance with interactive HTML reports. Report Server does not store retrieved data sets in its local cache do it goes to the database every time. Depending on the report and how they are normally used, it is difficult to what is the real time effect.
