Deadline property for JobLate event is ignored

Question & Answer

Question

Why is there no event or action if a job runs past the deadline time set in an event rule?

Cause

This is by design.

Answer

The "Deadline" attributeFilter or property for a "JobLate" event cannot be used to insert a deadline for a job. The job deadline needs to be defined at the job level and the "Deadline" property for an event rule is a filter to add specificity to the event matching criteria.
