White Screen when logging into Maximo

Troubleshooting


Problem

Browser session has a white screen after entering username and password and trying to load the Start Center. Status bar may have error on page icon

Symptom

User cannot load Start Center. In systemout log NOTHING HANDLED EVENT: loadapp, target=null, value=startcntr message

Resolving The Problem

User may see a white screen when trying to log into Maximo. Look in the systemout log and there will be a message similar to
NOTHING HANDLED EVENT: loadapp, target=null, value=startcntr

Import the REPLIBRARY.XML file and stop and start the Maximo Application Server again. Users should now be able to login successfully.

To import the XML outside of Application Designer:

1. Start the Maximo Application Server

2. From Internet Explorer go to the Maximo URL and login

3. Change the URL to http://<servername>:<port>/maximo/webclient/utility/import.jsp

This will open the import page and you can browse to the REPLIBRARY.XML file and import

(file is located in ibm\smp\maximo\resources\presentations\system)

4. Stop and start the Maximo Application Server

A possible cause of corruption of the xml in the database is using a third-party database replication software.
